Inspired by the gardens of England, a steep slope behind the house was dramatically defined with a long, curving, dry-laid stonewall about six feet high and seventy feet long. This creates the Lower Pond Garden, where a private pergola-enclosed dining area overhangs a large koi pond.
From here the view of the waterfall is dramatic: a stream overflows from the upper pond, cascades down the slope, under a stone bridge and through a small bog. It then splits into two spectacular waterfalls, finally converging into the large pond below, adjacent a private dining patio. Sitting beneath the rose covered pergola overlooking the pond, you will think yourself in a grand English garden in a time long past.
